Tales of Vesperia £24.99 @ Shop To [XBox 360 Games]

The much loved Tales series continues for the current generation of consoles with Tales of Vesperia, one of the better JRPG games to come out on the Xbox in recent times.

It's currently available with £10 off (making it £10 less than the next best price) thanks to ShopTo's Weekly Special promotion, so now is a good time to buy it before it leaps back up to full price.

The action takes place on "Terca Lumireis" where the citizens rely on ancient technology known as “blastia”. You will largely be playing as Yuri Lowell who sets off with his canine companion to recover the stolen blastia that was used to ensure that his neighbourhood had fresh water. Shockingly, the mission does not go as smoothly and easily as he had planned and he soon finds himself caught up in a political struggle that may effect the fate of the whole world, picking up waifs and strays along the way.

The story is not particularly new or refreshing but it is nonetheless engaging and the well translated and reasonably believable dialogue helps draw you warm to the characters and their individual struggles.

The game is visually very charming with a lovely paint-palette array of colours and attractive cel-shaded character models. Sound is also utilised well with high quality voice acting and decent music and effects. The real time battle system keeps combat fast and scrappy although it does mean you can often get by with a brazen bout of button-bashing.

Overall Tales of Vesperia is a lot of fun to play and, though the story is simple, you will care for the characters and want to follow their progress while the fun combat and lovely visuals will hold your interest.

Good deal, though I got it for £20 a couple of months back from ShopTo in their sale. Any budding entrepreneurs may wanna pick up a few though because this commonly goes for £30+ on eBay.
