Team Meat have slammed Nintendo's file size allowance on WiiWare, branding the 40MB allowance for uploads as "horrible".
"Super Meat Boy would have been on WiiWare if we could have had just a few more megabytes of space," said Team Meat’s Tommy Refenes.
Refenes also reported that the 3DS' eShop had a limit of 2GB, which was much more reasonable.
"[WiiWare's] 40MB is horrible, but [3DS's] 2GB is reasonable. Super Meat Boy would have been on WiiWare if we could have had just a few more megabytes of space – you can only compress stuff so much before you have to start cutting out huge parts of your game. Unfortunately, at that point, it just isn’t worth the time."
It's not that Team Meat have anything against Nintendo, indeed if they could, they'd much prefer to have their next game "to be on Wii U as well as everything else." [Nintendo Gamer via Nintendo Everything]
