Remember in the first Jurassic Park film when rogue programmer Dennis Nedry dropped the canister storing dinosaur embryos in the mud before being mauled to death by a Dilophosaurus? Well Telltale Games obviously do, as they're crafting an original Jurassic Park game around just what happened to that particularly precious canister. And according to a new trailer on Telltale's website, it's due for release in April.
Telltale's game picks up directly following the first film, with the park's employee's desperately fleeing the now overrun facility. You control a smuggler, sent in to recover Nedry's precious cargo. The trailer is sprinkled with delicious hints and nods to events in the first film, like the wrecked truck that fell from the tree and a Tyrannosaurus lifting its colossal head as the park's perimeters go down.
And honestly, I'm excited! The original Jurassic Park was an indelible experience in my life. And while the graphics look a bit plastic and varnished in vaseline, the overall aesthetic is pleasing and faithful to the source material. Just hearing the T-Rex roar and the 'raptors snarl has me bouncing up and down like Jeff Goldblum! [Telltale Games]
