Terraria £7 at Grainger Games on PS3

TerrariaGrainger Games | £7 (save £5) | PC Review

Despite a general distaste for time-consuming games that offer little reward (I'm looking at you Minecraft and Dont' Starve), Terraria managed to pull me in for ages when I covered the 360 version elsewhere last year. Favouring a 2D take on the genre, you must craft buildings and items to survive each night's attacks from the undead while digging further down into the earth to eventually make your way to hell. Worlds are randomly generated, so you'll never know what lies ahead in the darkness, but finding that special object to craft that axe upgrade or fancy new hat is way more fun than it should be.

I loved Terraria, the way the resource collection and crafting systems work are set out brilliantly. It keeps you hooked for just that bit longer, as the goals are much more defined than in Minecraft etc which keeps you far more focused!

Really looking forward to Starbound - are you going to be covering it?

@Anarchist: Oh, we've dived in a few times now - you can find our first impressions here: http://www.dealspwn.com/starbound-roundtable-166069

We're planning on returning to it at some point soon, for we have unfinished business with a spaceship-steering penguin...
