THQ's attempt to raise capital by teaming up with Humble Bundle is already starting to pay off.
The Humble THQ Bundle includes Darksiders, Company of Heroes, Company of Heroes: Opposing Fronts, Company of Heroes: Tales of Valor, Metro 2033, Red Faction: Armageddon and Saints Row: The Third (if you beat the average price), and understandably raised a cool 2 million sales in its first 24 hours.
GamesIndustry reports that THQ's share prices surged in response, increasing 37.9% from $1.07 to $1.60 on launch day. Share prices have since settled to $1.45, but it's clear that the pay what you want model is capable of providing big bucks for big businesses. Whether it will dig the embattled publisher out of their financial SNAFU... before their creditor's deadline expires... remains to be seen. [via VG247]
