Thanks to the Wii Motion Plus controls, this is the closest you can get to stepping onto the fairways of all your favourite courses and teeing off with the pros, the only thing that's really missing is the smell of the grass but you can sort that out by opening your window after mowing the lawn.
NB. Remember to use the following code in order to get the game at the advertised price: FTSL15-1
Tesco Entertainment are parting with copies of the game on the Wii for £24.39, provided that you've not already taken advantage of their money saving promotional code, which makes it exactly £3.50 cheaper than the next best price of £24.39 coming in from Choices UK. Also, be warned that Tesco's code stops working on the 31st July 2010, so you'll have to make your purchase in the next few weeks.
If you've been sitting on the sidelines when it come to motion plus, then this is the game that you should buy it for because when it's coupled with the new True Vision mode, the game becomes one of if not the most accurate golf simulator on the console market. The only problem with True Vision is that you see everything in first person mode, including the ball disappearing towards the green, which makes it incredibly hard to put spin on the ball because you'll have no idea where exactly it's heading. Luckily, True Vision is optional so you can switch back to the familiar third person view at the click of a button.
Finally for all of us golf fans, after waiting year after year, the developers have made the Ryder Cup playable, which for those of you not in the know, is the biennial tournament between Europe and the USA. Not all the new game modes are series though, you can also play a bit of crazy golf with a few friends, provided that they've come round your house because online multiplayer isn't supported.
This is a great game if you're a golf aficionado, but even if you're not you'll have a great time standing in your living room swinging your Wiimote for all you're worth in the hope of getting a hole in one.
