Trade in two titles and get COD MW2 PS3/XBox for £4.99 + Explanation how to end up getting it for just £24.97 (PS3) or £24.99 (XBox) at GamestationWith only one week to go before Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare 2 hits the shelves worldwide, and the best price currently available for an Xbox 360 or PS3 copy is a massive £37.98 from Coolshop. However, using a simple strategy to take advantage of the current Gamestation deal where you trade in two games from a selected list and get Modern Warefare 2 for £4.99, you can get hold of a copy for £24.97 (PS3) or £24.99 (Xbox 360) - without parting company with any of your games!

Although it might sound a bit confusing it’s actually extremely simple thanks to an innovative tip shared by thesnowman86 from HUKD. Gamestation have provided a list of games which, if you trade in two, will enable you to get hold of a copy of MW2 for just £4.99. The titles available for trade in are as follows:

X360 + PS3
Overlord II
Op Flashpoint: DR
Dirt 2
Sacred 2

Xbox 360

Star Wars: Clone Wars
Marvel Ult Alliance 2

So, if you own two of the above titles and they’re ripe for trade in, you’re laughing. However, even if you don’t have two of the above titles you can still use this deal to your advantage and get a very decent discount off a copy of Modern Warfare 2. As described by thesnowman86 from Hotukdeals, Overlord II is currently on special offer at Play.com priced £9.99 on the PS3, and £10 on the Xbox 360.

So, buying yourself two copies of Overlord II (£9.99 x2 = £19.98), trading them in and paying £4.99 means MW2 will set you back just £24.97 on PS3 or £24.99 on Xbox 360. Although thesnowman86 stated that Gamestation had no problem accepting two copies of the same game, some customers are slightly uncomfortable about this. If so, you can always get a copy of Wet and Overlord II, trade them in, and get MW2 for £35 which is still a good saving. If you do decide to trade two copies of Overlord II however, it’s probably a good idea to get in there quick as stocks won’t last forever.

Thanks to thesnowman86 from Hotukdeals.

I would give this a go, except we don't have Gamestation here in Northern Ireland!

Great deal if it works though.

It states in Gamestation's T&Cs that they will not except 2 copies of the same game.

Justin, it has been successfully done. Here's a quote from the HUKD thread:

Did this myself and had no problem trading in two copies of the same game.

Hopefully the staff at every Gamestation will not know their own rules then.

Just pointing out there is a risk of them getting wise to this.

I just asked today. You can't trade in two copies of the same game and you can't trade in Overlord 2 with WET. So buy Overlord 2 and you can get cheap - Infamous, Marvel Ultimate Alliance 2 or even Call of Duty 4 Modern Warfare (1). It's still cheaper like that than buying MW2 for 44 or 54 pounds. Good luck!
