Stomping around as a giant robot which can transform into a super sweet vehicle at the touch of a button should be awesome fun and it is, to an extent...
If you're quick you can sweep up a copy of Revenge of the Fallen for less than a fiver from Cool Shop. Not only can this price be legitimately described as "peanuts" but it is also a third of the price asked by the next cheapest retailer My Memory (who are selling it for £14.95 and currently have just one copy left in stock!).
Hurry! Time is of the essence with this one; Cool Shop are already reporting low stock!
Revenge of the Fallen loosely follows the plot of its celluloid counterpart and is split into two campaigns, giving you the chance to play as both honourable Autobot and devious delinquent Decepticon. While the two separate threads are different enough to make it feel worthwhile playing through both campaigns, the gameplay does get repetitive pretty rapidly.
There is little to the game than a non stop rampage, destroying everything in your path. While it is certainly flimsy, occasionally shallow anarchy like this is just what you want from a game and there is no denying that there is plenty of chaotic fun to be had with Revenge of the Fallen and so it seems perhaps a little churlish to dismiss such a cheap game on this factor alone.
However, while it's no stretch to say that the game incarnation of Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen is a damn sight more enjoyable and less disappointing that the film, this PC version is so hampered with bugs, glitches and frame rate issues that you might wish you hadn't bothered putting the disc into the drive.
