Staying away from the plots of the blockbuster films has definitely done wonders for the latest Transformers game, which goes right back to the giant, shape changing robots roots.
NB. Remember to use the following code to pick up the game at the advertised price: FTSL15-1
You can grab a copy on the Xbox for £22.10, which'll make you a pretty good saving of just over £12 on the next best offer of £34.49 coming in from Cool Shop UK. However, if you want to take advantage of Tesco's promotional code then you'll have to get your skates on because it runs out at the end of the month, although the price of the game without the code is still the cheapest to be found.

You'll start off the main game as a cruel and calculating Decepticon before switching to a courageous Autobot, and the campaign takes part on their home planet Cybertron years before the events of the original TV show and films, as the Autobots desperately try to keep a powerful substance called Dark Energon out of Megatrons clutches.
The single player requires a bit of thought as you'll have to go long periods without coming across either weapons or health drops, so you'll need to get to grips with the controls in order to take advantage of all the moves you can pull off to dispatch your enemies without having to fire a shot.
Multiplayer's also present and you'll get dropped into a battlefield with Decepticons at one end and Autobots at the other. I've got to admit I'm not the greatest fan of the multiplayer and I found that it quickly became tedious.
The fact that the game has dropped down in price is a definite bonus, which'll certainly appeal to fans, however I'll be waiting until it falls a little lower.
