Trauma Centre: Under the Knife was one of the most inventive and memorable games upon its release for the DS and, like so many games of that era was given a Wii makeover when Nintendo's world conquering console was finally unleashed. It was a great example of the interesting ways that the Wiimote can be used, as well as a very decent game in its own right.
At the moment Shop To are offering the game as one of their Star Buys with a price tag of just £14.85, which is almost £10 less than the next best price from Cool Shop who are selling it for £23.99
Apparently there are only a few left in stock so if you want to snap up Trauma Centre at this bargain price then you ought to be speedy!
The action takes place in Hope Hospital, in the year 2018. Many diseases once considered terminal and incurable are now all but extinct. However there is a new man made sickness on the prowl that has been spread by terrorist organisation Delphi. You take on the role of Derek Stiles, a doctor who unlocks a magical healing touch following the death of a patient thanks to his negligence. Stiles decides to use his healing hands to protect the world from the spread of the deadly terrorist threat.
Trauma Centre is comprised of story-telling sections and surgery itself. Using the wii remote as your scalpel and tools, you must make an incision, sort out the patient's internal problems and then close them back up again. This is a good, fun challenge but can be fiendishly difficult at times and you'll want a steady hand!
Although a remake, Second Opinion has all new shiny graphics and mechanics to equip it for its new home on the Wii, difficulty options, more voice acting and a couple of new chapters, as well as giving the player the opportunity to play as Dr. Naomi Weaver as well as Stiles.
