GamersGate has lowered the price of Trine to one of the cheapest levels we've seen - and it's definitely time you invested if you've been sitting on the fence. The robust physics engine coupled with the genuinely creative puzzle solving makes Trine a refreshing and rewarding take on the platforming genre - thanks to each of its three heroes possessing distinct abilities. For example, the thief uses a grappling hook to swing over a pit whereas the wizard can create a series of floating platforms or levitate rocks to form a bridge. The knight would probably just chuck a boulder or three into the bottom before strolling off to find some skeletons to brutalise. The three characters can be switched between at any time, allowing players to adjust their tactics on the fly (as well as adding some impressive replay value).
