It's been a while since Twisted Metal reared its head - bonnet? - since its unveiling at E3, with East, Sleep, Play hard at work on Sweet-Tooth's next vehicular carnage-simulator. But thanks to Twitter, game director David Jaffe has revealed a media event is planned for the game next month, with plenty of behind-the-scenes work ongoing.
At this media event Jaffe is referring to, we'll probably be given our first hands-on with the new Twisted Metal and be privy to a bunch of new features and announcements, too. It's been almost a year since its unveiling, and I'm betting Sony has a few surprises up their sizable sleeve ready to drop on the unsuspecting public.
But what else has Jaffe and co got on their hands? Well, for one, their working on the vital settings that underpin the online code, with Jaffe tweeting "working with the team to decide what the RANKED non-tweakable HOST settings will be while also figuring out the UNRANKED host settings for multiplayer", before revealing "from what I hear, UNLIMITED WEAPONS is a big no no!". He's also writing the ubiquitous tips that appear on the game's loading screen. I've always wondered who was in charge of those.
Jaffe is also on-hand at a Twisted Metal shoot akin to the reveal trailer from last year's E3, which had already been shot but is getting the re-shoot treatment to "capture shots we missed, redo performances that needed a touch of love, new shots to make story points stronger". Whether this shoot is intended for the game - which will feature live-action cutscenes bridging plot-points - or is part of the media event planned for next month is unclear.
So I suppose we'll have to wait and see. Are you excited? Why not tell us then. It's good to share. [Tweet Deck]
