Two GamePad Tablets To Connect To A Wii U, Nintendo Confirms

Frame Rate Halved When Both Are In Use

I was laughed at for suggesting such a possibility, but one of my E3 wishes has come true. During their press conference yesterday, Nintendo confirmed that the Wii U will now support having two of the GamePad tablet controllers connected to a Wii U console at the same time. This is an improvement from last year, where it was stated that only one would be able to each console along with the usual array of Wiimotes.

However, it was later confirmed by company president Satoru Iwata on Twitter that having two GamePads connected would cut the frame rate of the visuals by half, a fall from 60 frames per second to 30 frames per second. While this is somewhat disappointing, the inclusion to have a second GamePad will hopefully be met with praise for Nintendo.

You can find a video tour of the GamePad tablet controller below.

Makes it sound like it was only meant to run 1 and after last years E3 they did what they could to get it to support 2.

As I've said since day one, if it only supports one tablet and other players without the tablet aren't at a disadvantage then the tablet's an unnecessary gimmick. If it supports more than one it's expensive. Either way it seems it's full of fail... :\
