Tywin Lannister Confirmed For The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt

Sorry, that should read 'Charles Dance.'

Following a rather excellent CG trailer, CD Projekt RED confirms that their open-world next generation RPG will cast Dance (Alien 3, The Last Action Hero and Game of Thrones) as Emperor Emhyr var Emreis. We suspect that, perhaps, he may turn out to be a little bit evil.

“Charles Dance is the perfect candidate to play the mighty Nilfgaardian emperor in our upcoming title," comments lead writer Marcin Blacha. "It’s a dream come true for the team here at RED to be able to work with such an accomplished actor and magnetic personality."

Further supporting the blindingly obvious "Charles Dance is probably voicing a bad guy" theory, the latest Witcher 3 trailer shows Emperor Emhyr's forces ravaging the countryside. However, in The Witcher's universe, traditional morality tends to descend into shades of grey - and there's no such thing as a hero or villain. We're looking forward to seeing Dance bring his trademark charisma (and a horde of Game Of Thrones fanpeople) to the experience.
