Ubisoft: Far Cry 4 Details Coming "Soon"

"We're Clearly Going To Make Another One"

With Far Cry 3 deservedly becoming a major critical and sales success, Ubisoft seems set to announce the follow-up soon.

"We're totally psyched from [Far Cry 3]," Ubisoft senior vice president of marketing and sales Tony Key told Gamespot. "It's a great brand, and now it's got the recognition it deserves, so we're clearly going to make another one: more on that soon."

We rated Far Cry 3 9/10 in our full review last year, praising its open world and fun open-ended gameplay. The Blood Dragon standalone DLC pack was fantastic too. With luck, a sequel can build on that firm foundation. More as we hear it.

Far Cry 3 is one of the best single player games I've played in a long time. (Story wise). Didn't rate blood dragon at all. Far Cry 4, I wonder what the story will be? Whatever it needs similar characters such as Vaas, guys/gals you love to hate.

With all these sequels to critically acclaimed games, from my memory, they usually tend to never match up or meet expectations when they come out too soon after the original.
I'd be happy to wait another 4 years for Far Cry 4 if it meant it was equally as good.

(However looking at the release dates the Far Cry series a new game has been released every 4 years).

I loved Far Cry 3 - one of my favourite games of the current generation - but I hated Far Cry 2.

I'm very keen to see Far Cry 4. But if there's even a hint of having to inject yourself with antidotes, or respawning baddies then I'm out!

I loved Far Cry 2... but mainly because it was a really good early 3D Vision game and it was fun to set light to gas canisters and watch them spin round the dry grass, burning everything in their path.

As an actual game however, it got very boring after the first few identical missions.

Typical Ubisoft (well I suppose game companies in general these days) - "that game was a big success, let's make 8 sequels immediately". I hope they take their time and it doesn't end up like the Assassins Creed series.
