Internet sleuth and all-round secret-spiller, Superannuation, is at it again, unearthing details on a supposed Far Cry 3 in development at Ubisoft Montreal. The resumes mention FC3 by name, whereas another spills the beans on an unannounced first-person shooter featuring "exotic gameplay" and "scripted events". A third Far Cry game has been rumored for months now, and it appears an E3 announcement might be imminent.
Discovered on LinkedIn, Superannuation revealed two resumes which mention Far Cry 3 by name. Marc Echave, a 3D animator at Ubisoft Montreal, and Lee Villeneuve, a stuntman who's worked with them before, all feature mention of a game called Far Cry 3 on their resumes. Michael Khabrov, however, the technical director of scripted events at Ubisoft Montreal, is a little more cautious - professional? - by revealing details on the aforementioned unannounced shooter.
Far Cry 2 was an engrossing if flawed experience, perhaps a little too open-ended for its own good. Khabrov's resume mentions numerous scripted events, which suggest Ubisoft may be imparting a bit more control on our adventures. It's unclear where the third game will take place, although it's certain to be another "exotic" locale. Whether that means a return to the tropical paradise of the first game or the baking savannah of the second, we just don't know.
But you can be sure we'll have more for you when E3 comes around! Stay tuned. [Superannuation]
