We've had a number of people ask about the official state of Rocksmith and its likelihood of being brought over to European shores, and, having contacted Ubisoft for comment, they today issued a statement that rather killed it in the water.
'There are currently no plans to bring Rocksmith to Europe,' read the simple response.
Although there have been rumblings on a variety of forums and Facebook pages about a possible release for Rocksmith, we were told back at E3 by Ubisoft's Stefano Petrullo that it wouldn't be happening. However, a Q and A from the Rocksmith team on their Facebook page after the event (dated June 16th) suggested that it might still be in the pipeline.
Writing in response to Twitter questions from fans, the team suggested the following:
'@Rémy Delanaux As the game is such a new venture, we need to concentrate on getting our home territory (North America) right 1st, then other territories (Europe, Asia). Sorry for the delay, I’m sure it will happen soon.'
'@Stephan Valkær We hope to release in Europe in 2012'
Those hopes have clearly been canned for the moment.
