PC gamers! Ubisoft didn't mean to push you away with crappy Uplay itegration and awful DRM. They want to rekindle a loving, mutually beneficial relationship with you, to give you choice in the bedroom (or living room, or wherever you have your PC). They want to spice things up with variety and give you options.
Yep, Ubisoft want to woo the PC community, and after last year's hilarious comedy of errors, they kind of need to.
“Announcing all these partners for Uplay and a wider choice of PC games, it shows our commitment to PC, and we want to improve our relationship with the PC community,” Uplay director Stephanie Perotti told MCV.
“We are always seeking to improve. We took a lot of that feedback on board. With every game on PC we are improving. Far Cry 3 and Assassin’s Creed III on PC were very high quality.”
Well, Far Cry 3 was certainly a cracker on PC. Not so sure about Assassin's Creed III, mind you. Nonetheless, Ubisoft say that they are committed to providing more choice for PC players.
“At Uplay we are also offering all Ubisoft titles, more console content and elements that gamers are more interested in. It’s about offering more options and more choice.”
Let's be frank, though. Uplay makes Origin look smooth as silk in comparison. Nerf the faffing, streamline your systems, and make Uplay a seamless, fast platform and then maybe we'll talk, Ubi.
