Ubisoft Ships Rocksmith PC Batch Without DLC Codes

PSA: Ubisoft has shipped a batch of Rocksmith PC copies that don't contain a downloadable activation code for the Guitarcade minigame. Affected customers can apply for a replacement key online.

Though Guitarcade can be naturally unlocked through continued play, it's still another embarrassing gaffe in a stream of DLC and DRM-related mistakes. After outagesbotched online pass print runsidiotic activationsmass confusionpublic outcryutter futility and glaring vulnerabilities, it's tempting to suggest that Ubisoft should just stick to making games.

"Guitarcade" is a brilliant name, though - so most problems can be overlooked.

I got an e-mail the day before release with my Steam code, so I managed to pre-download the game then once the pack came I just plugged my cable in and off I went.

Not sure about the Guitarcade mode though, not played many of the games.

Loving this game. Already 100%'ed "Go with the flow" (which is an easy track anyways). The guitar games are a good idea, but I am not in to them yet.

Have already spent £13 on DLC (6 tracks, Offspring and Blink) and can see that I will spend a lot more before I start getting bored of this.

Now I just need to set up a business making coloured guitar strings... having been a guitarist for years and years on and off I do find this a lot harder than just reading tab... I was fine with the red and yellow strings, but as soon as they started throwing orange and green it really threw me. I am already getting better and with practice it will come naturally, but that must be killer if you have not played guitar before.

Ah it's those loveable rogues Ubisoft once again. I'm surprised they're doing as well as they are. They couldn't organise a **** up in a brewery.
