Zumba Fitness' rein atop the UK charts continued this past week, fending off renewed competition from Codemasters' DIRT 3, which jumped six places to second. With its Michael Bay-helmed counterpart crowned highest grossing film of 2011 within two weeks on release, Transformers: Dark of the Moon enjoyed a surge in sales, leaping from sixth to third. LEGO Pirates of the Carribean tumbled two places to fourth, as did Rockstar's LA Noire, with the 1940s crime caper shuffling down to fifth. In relates news, Zumba Fitness publisher 505 Games have announced the opening of a new building, designed with the sole purpose of storing all their money.
The surprise addition to the charts this week is Call of Duty Black Ops. Last week, Activision's record-shattering shooter wasn't even in the top ten; occupying seventeenth place. Now it's seventh, just behind Virtua Tennis 4 in at sixth! Brink has shot up one place to eighth, leapfrogging FEAR 3, which fell from fourth to ninth. Top Spin 4 rounds off the top ten, dropping two places from eighth.
Zumba Fitness' dominance of the charts is pretty astonishing. It's held the top spot for weeks now, despite competition from new releases and renewed surges from older titles. Until Deus Ex Human Revolution launches in August, it has no real competition from any big name releases. See how the charts pan out next week.
