UK Games Charts | 23rd May 2011

Well, surprise, surprise! LA Noire's jumped straight in at Number 1 in this week's UK Games Charts and my guess is that it'll stay in the top three for at least the next couple of weeks. Rockstar's Detective saga is jam packed full of content and I had a wicked time investigating away and busting criminals over the weekend! That's not to say it's a perfect game by any means, there are a couple of areas that could do with a bit of polish, but it's wonderful to see the story unfold before your eyes.

The only other new entry to the charts is The Witcher 2: Assassins Of Kings, which has cruised in at fifth place. Lego: Pirates Of The Caribbean's held second place, which I'd have expected, considering how many people'll probably head straight out of the cinema to buy it after seeing Pirates 4. The biggest surprises to me this week have been Portal 2 dropping down three places to seventh, and seeing that Call Of Duty: Black Ops' charm seems to have finally worn off, as it's dropped five places to tenth, but at least it's hanging on in there. Also, Crysis 2 has rocketed further up the charts from ninth place to sixth!

  4. Zumba Fitness (- 1)

  6. Crysis 2 (+ 3)
  7. Portal 2 (- 3)
  8. Fifa 11 (-)
  9. Mortal Kombat (- 3)

Well deserved in my opinion. Have been hooked on this all weekend, as the story compels you to keep wanting to know what happens next. It's a shame that it probably will not last long as the game isn't too long, but the variables in cases, as well as the unassigned missions will keep some replaying. I hope we get some regular DLC with this.
