UK Games Charts | 27th October 2012

EA's decision to withhold review copies until the day before launch seems to have paid off, since the incredibly mediocre Medal Of Honor: Warfighter has unseated FIFA 13 to take this week's top spot on the strength of its pre-orders. It's also the fastest week-one seller in the entire MoH series, according to UKIE. Flashy trailers seem to count for a lot, which expertly hide the mess of glitches, gameplay issues and dearth of imagination inherent in EA's annual shooter offering. You can read our take on it in our 5/10 Medal Of Honor: Warfighter review.

Forza Horizon has made a strong debut in third place, and actually deserved to do so. Matt's Forza Horizon review is on hand to deliver our in-depth judgement.

Elsewhere, Professor Layton And The Miracle Mask has worked its charming magic in seventh place, acting as the Professor's first outing on the 3DS. Moshi Monsters: Moshlings Theme Park is also predictably proving a hit with the kiddies, though XCOM and Borderlands 2 have both slipped out of contention (20th and 11th respectively). As always, we've got the full UK Top Ten below, complete with links to our reviews where possible.
