Can Zumba Fitness' rampant success be stopped? I don't think so, not when its stretched its number one spot to eight consecutive weeks, seeing a 16% spike in sales and outselling the rest of the top five combined! It's Zumba's eleventh number one spot since launch, equaling previous best haul records from FIFA: Road to World Cup 98' and FIFA Soccer 96'. Whoa.
So, with Zumba snatching most of the weeks sales away, who else made up the top ten? DIRT 3 jumped four places to second, with Cars 2 losing pace with the leader and slipping into third. Ubisoft's Just Dance 2: Extra Songs - what an imaginative title - held strong in fourth, along with LEGO: Pirates of the Carribean which held fast in fifth. Fifa 11 secured sixth after a two place jump.
Warner Bros will be happy with Harry Potter games occupying seventh and eighth place, with The Deathly Hallows Part 2 and Years 1-4 respectively. LA Noire clung on to ninth place, while Call or Juarez: The Cartel dropped seven places to tenth. Zumba Fitness dominance doesn't show any signs of slowing, so I think you can expect a similar chart next week. However, September is a different story as a few of the big hitters like Gears of War 3 and FIFA 12 are unleashed on store shelves.
