Last week's charts are a little late thanks to the inconvenient public holiday and debauched merriment afforded by the termination of 2011, but the New Year sales figures are finally in. FIFA 12 ends the year on a high in first position, shadowed by Modern Warfare 3 and Battlefield 3 in second and third. Christmas Number One The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim dropped to eighth, though it's still a laudable position for a game that isn't part of an annualised franchise.
Elsewhere, the top ten is filled out by the same old faces, but the lower positions are more interesting. Skylanders is still selling well and championing its impressive cross-media potential, while the phenomenal Rayman Origins is also enjoying some well-deserved success. Pat yourselves on the back, purchasers. You made the right decision.
