Welcome to the holiday season, everyone. Suddenly the sluggish and boring chart has burst into a frenzy of major new titles, each of which are jostling for position, prestige and - more importantly - your money. Dead Island has slaughtered the competition and secured the top spot, with Relic's equally violent shooter Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine hot in its heels in second place. Resistance 3 has also been selling well at launch (partly due to its PSN pass) and has entered the charts at number four. Driver and Deus Ex: Human Revolution round out the top five, though Adam Jensen has probably flown too close to the sun to regain his number one.
Also, wow, a 3DS title has made the top ten! Star Fox 3D is out and outrageously nostalgic despite its overhaul. Still, it's a cracking game that many gamers - myself included - have been waiting for ever since the 3DS hit the shelves. Gran Turismo 5 has also raced its way into tenth position thanks to the recent release of its Platinum edition.
Elsewhere, there are still a few familiar faces lurking around - and we've got the full chart after the break.
