Ultra Street Fighter IV Revealed For Early 2014

Available As Digital Upgrade Or Retail Edition

Capcom have announced a new edition of Street Fighter IV that includes new characters, environments and another wave of balance tweaks. Ultra Street Fighter IV is slated to release early next year, available as a digital upgrade to existing players or a new retail edition.

Ultra Street Fighter IV adds Poison, Hugo, Elena, Rolento and "a secret all-new playable character" to the character roster, bulking it out to a whopping 44 playable fighters. Six new battle environments (including Pitstop 109, Cosmic Elevator, Half Pipe and more) will also make an appearance. In terms of rebalancing, the team have incorporated "direct fan feedback" from Super Street Fighter IV: Arcade Edition, the details of which will be made available over the coming weeks. There's some preliminary info on Capcom-Unity.

Owners of Super Street Fighter IV or Super Street Fighter IV: Arcade Edition will be able to download the Ultra Edition as a £14.99 DLC pack, while a full retail and game on demand version will also release around the same time. Naturally it's taking aim at PC, PS3 and Xbox 360.

I wonder how long they're going to be making versions of SF4 for. Such a joke with these games.
