After launching a couple of flashback map packs, Naughty Dog has announced that cooperative DLC will soon be headed to Uncharted 3. 'Co-Op Shade Survival Mode' will release on March 13th, which allows players to team up and fight off increasingly powerful waves of enemies... you know the drill. However, occasional special objectives should help to keep the action fresh and unpredictable - and persistent powerups will add an addictive progression system.

It's two weeks until our chum Nate jets off to another bunch of exotic locales to find treasure and kick ass, and Naughty Dog have dropped the final, happily spoiler-free, video tidbit for you to stick in your retinas before you get your grubby mitts on the game itself.

Sony confirmed last week that Naughty Dog's upcoming action spectacular, Uncharted 3, would be using the much-maligned Online Pass system for its competitive multiplayer. When you purchase a new copy of the game, it will contain a code you must redeem online before you can hop into matchmaking. Pick up the game secondhand, however, and you'll be forced to purchase an Online Pass at a price, with publishers working hard to sway fans from the burgeoning used games market. And according to developers Naughty Dog, such a system is a necessary evil to ensure the team can work on further games to such a high level of quality.Click here to read more...
We're less than a month away from Uncharted 3 now, with work on the game completed and discs in the process of being stamped, boxed and dispatched to retailers. However, don't expect Naughty Dog to sit back and soak up the glory of Nathan Drake's third outing, with the team chomping at the bit to begin work on their next big thing. The catch? Well, the team is so small, they can't afford to spare resources to build single-player DLC for UC3 fans.Click here to read more...
The war against pre-owned games continues! Sony have confirmed to Spanish gaming site The Vault that Uncharted 3 will require a PSN pass to play online. The initiative was originally rolled out with Resistance 3 earlier this year and it appears that Sony is following in the steps of the likes of EA and THQ in trying to clamp down on piracy and second-hand game sales. Naughty Dog has announced that the Uncharted 3 beta will run for an extra 24 hours, meaning that we'll have an extra day to work towards the unlockable rewards in the full version. This may well have something to do with the character reset glitch, but hey, the extra day of testing certainly couldn't hurt. The deadline now hits on July 15th at 5PM GMT.
A stats portal has also opened, which allows players to check out a selection 0f pertinent facts and figures. Check it out here.
Let us know what you made of the beta!
We were all stunned by the Tomb Raider demo premiered at Microsoft's E3 conference early last month. It wasn't just the jaw-dropping visuals, the lifelike animation and surprisingly tense atmosphere; it truly felt like a return to form for what was once gaming's best action-adventurer. Tomb Raider has since conceded the throne to a number of treasure plunderers, namely Naughty Dog's fantastic Uncharted series, but according to developers Crystal Dynamics, fans needn't worry about similarities between the two rival franchises.Click here for more on the new Tomb Raider
Just a quick public service announcement for Uncharted fans who haven't been able to beg, borrow or scrounge a code for Uncharted 3's beta. Naughty Dog have confirmed that the beta will be going public today - and will be hosted as a regular download on the PlayStation Store.
To mark the second week of testing, Naughty Dog have also added some new gametypes into the mix: Team Objective and Co-Op Hunters. These two modes will be available until July 9th, alongside the more traditional Team Deathmatch and Free For All.
Naturally, since this is a beta test, be sure to detail any issues and observations in Naughty Dog's official forum thread - and let us know what you make of it!
