The Walking Dead Season 2 Will Allow Save File Import

Telltale Considers Star Wars, Halo Or Half-Life Tie-Ins

Telltale's breathtakingly brave take on The Walking Dead deservedly shifted 8.5 million episodes since launch, and got our vote for Game Of The Year 2012. It comes as little surprise that another season is in the pipeline, but it appears that players will be able to import their season one save files to affect the storyline.

After that, could a Star Wars, Halo or Half-Life collaboration be in the pipeline?

“Right now we are just starting to form the concept for season two," Telltale CEO told Red Bull. "This all remains to be seen but we are definitely figuring out how to carry the saves over.”

When asked what's next for Telltale, Connors dropped a few tantalising hints about some dream collaborations.

“Coming from LucasArts we always felt we could do a great Star Wars story game," he said. "We also love the idea of building out a deeper story to a great game franchise, something like Half Life Stories or Halo Stories.”

Since Telltale have already worked with Valve on Poker Night At The Inventory, perhaps a Half-Life adventure isn't entirely out of the question?

Oooh, not sure if I want my season one data to be imported to season two, tbh...

I played the game the way I wanted to play it and made choices not knowing the end of the story - but then I went back and replayed it with a few changes here and there. Made a few choices I wouldn't have made other than for the reason I wanted to see the consequences.
Really my first playthrough data should be the data carried over to S2, but (unless they've done something extraordinarily fancy) that data will have been overwritten now.

Oh man, I'd love to see Telltale take on Star Wars. It'd be nice to be excited for a game bearing that title once again.

It has to be carried over. A series like this that asks you to invest in characters surely can't just throw all that development away?

I doubt I will replay S1 until maybe the whole saga is complete. I like having a story that is unique rather than I can't way to go back and see what happens differently if I pick another option.

It's an interesting development, certainly. To be honest, I rather thought that the end of Season 1 opened the door nicely for a new set of characters, so it'll be interesting to see how your decisions from S1 affect the world of S2 in any meaningful way.

It also depends on how crucial a certain little girl is to the storyline in S2.
