Remember Ruin? You know, that PS3/Vita cross-compatible RPG shown off at E3 2011? The one with the blatantly faked data transfer sequence? That was renamed Warrior's Lair?
No? Well never mind, because it's not happening any more.
"Sony Computer Entertainment can confirm that Warrior's Lair for PS Vita is no longer in development," a company rep informed IGN. "We apologise to those who pre-ordered the title and ask that they contact their retailer directly to cancel their pre-sale."
Unveiled as the first truly cross-play Vita and PS3 game, Ruin suffered from a torturous development cycle. Idol Minds was originally tasked with the project, but after the projected 2012 release date came and went, ModNation Racers: Road Trip creators Sony San Diego took the helm. It's unclear exactly why Warrior's Lair has now been canned, but it's possible that the studios have been reassigned to next-gen projects.
