WATCH_DOGS Interview Community Questions?

I'll be popping across the channel to interview some of the Watch_Dogs dev team tomorrow, as well as getting some contact time with Ubisoft's hacking sandbox game.

I'm putting the finishing touches to our questions now, but as we did with Borderlands 2, Star Trek and Dreamfall Chapters, I'd like to open the floor to our community! Any burning questions you want - or need - to ask?

Game length?

Are there any substantial differences between the current- and next-gen console versions? i.e. something other than graphical shininess - are there differences in number of characters onscreen, AI behaviour, content etc.

. Should we keep ours eyes peeled for Watch Dogs related stuff at the Ubisoft pre-E3 press conference or the Next Xbox press conference? Or both?

: What infleunces did the team have when making this game?

Q: How long did the team study the city of Chicago for, and how many visits? What exactly did you take away from the visit to the city that you didn't know going in? Howe did this help in the development going to the city?

Q: Are there any Montreal influences in the game, since the main studio is in Montreal making the game?

Q: What are some of the difficulties in making an open world game?


I will keep the OP updated as we go and maybe some of our questions will get answered down the road.

Q) How much freedom do we have in terms of being able to explore the city ?

Q) Will we be able to purchase certain drugs that'll improve Aiden's already impressive combat skills, or will we be able to purchase other things like medicine and bandages that prevent Aiden from getting hurt in the mist of battle ?.

how big is the map? is varied, There are fields? or woods? there will be animals?

Q)Car horns. Will cars and pedestrians react when it's blown; will the police have horns and/or sirens and the cars/pedestrians move over when its on.

Q) Will there be various radio stations/news to hear what's up; custom soundtracks (though I'm sure there will be a good soundtrack, always nice to have)?

Q)Will all cars handle differently or feel the same; different traction in the rain?

@Zeipher and stevenjameshyde: I'll see what I can do. I expect that they'll be very cagey about the next-gen version, mind.

@Hurricane43: Wow, that's a lot of suggestions! I'm asking a few of these already/similar questions but will definitely try to work some more of them in (and naturally state where they came from of course).

Is vehicle damage dynamic?

Is vehicle handling realistic?

Can vehicles be customized?

Can we buy property in game?

What can we spend or money on ingame?

Does the game have countryside?

Can Aiden control boats, helicopters, trains?

I was able to ask several of these questions, while many others were answered by the production build demo we were shown. The coverage should go live tomorrow afternoon all being well!

The preview is now live, and the first interview will release in the next hour. The second interview should be live tomorrow afternoon (GMT).

Thanks again to all of our community - and watchdogsforum.net - for getting involved with this. The developers are clearly touched that there's huge interest in this game already ("it makes the difference" apparently).
