Watch Here: The Wonderful 101 Nintendo Direct @ 3PM

Platinum Games are set to wax lyrical about The Wonderful 101 in a livestreamed broadcast at 15:00 GMT, which you can watch right here after the break. The presentation is set to include plenty of gameplay footage and developer insight about the innovative Wii U exclusive, scheduled to release at the end of the month. I'll naturally be tweeting away, just in case you're interested.

Interestingly, Platinum Games are also teasing a "special announcement" that will take place directly after the broadcast. We'll bring you the latest as we hear it! UPDATE: As far as I can make out, the surprise comes in the form of a playable demo.

"Special announcement" will either be that W101 and Bayonetta 2 are going multi-platform, or Vanquish 2 will be Wii U exclusive. Opposite ends of the awesome scale

I'd be surprised (perhaps pleasantly) if it's a multiplatform announcement, since Nintendo have basically bankrolled them themselves. And it follows a Nintendo Direct - that would be very bad form of Platinum :P. Wouldn't complain, though, even as a Wii U owner.

I wonder if, perhaps, Super Smash Bros will get some Platinum characters? Bayonetta would be amazing, though getting the tone right could be tricky...

Else, I'd love to see a second Vanquish, but Shinji Mikami works for Bethesda now. Capcom owns Okami, AFAIK. The mind boggles, and I can't wait.

Go on, announce a Platinum developed Metroid tie-in. I dare you. #sillyrampantspeculation

UPDATE: The surprise seems to be a playable Wii U demo. Right, I'm off to plug my Wii U in.

I still want Red or Bayonetta in SSB, though.
