This week's Nintendo eShop update brings two new titles and a stack of discounts

This week's Nintendo eShop update due on the 6th August brings in two new titles and some great savings over the Wii U, Virtual Console and 3DS platforms.

Wii U eShop

  • Beatbuddy (Threaks, £8.09) – this action-adventure game relies on rhythm-based timing to perform some moves and key moments. With six beautifully hand-drawn worlds, each featuring unique music composed by industry legends like Austin Wintory, Parov Stelar, chiptune-genius Sabrepulse, and the La Rochelle Band, and the promise of more content in the form of DLC, this is one to look out for. Available from 5th August.
  • Sanatory Hallways (Wegenbartho, £8.99) – a unique two-player experience that sees one character wielding a flashlight to escape her nightmare, with the other being a ghost tasked with tormenting her. The spirit can set traps, turn off electricity and more. With free DLC planned to bring additional levels in the future, this is another to mark as intriguing.

Wii U Virtual Console

  • Star Fox Command (Nintendo, £8.99) – this DS title is the fifth in the Star Fox series, and hit Europe in 2007 (2006 in the rest of the world). It’s a little different from its predecessors, splitting play between tactical battles on the touchscreen and free roaming battles, though there is plenty of content on offer, including many colorful characters and multiple endings.
  • Donkey Kong: Jungle Climber (Nintendo, £8.99) – the successor to GBA title DK: King of Swing, this game was originally released on the DS in 2007 and utilizes the shoulder buttons for swinging between pegs, collecting items and tackling foes as you go. The gameplay is shaken up slightly with a few quirks, while multiplayer is also included (and will hopefully feature here as it was a local one-cart feature).

Poor offerings as usual the Eshop is a joke compared to Microsoft and sonys stores.

Yeah, I do have to agree with that. The savings are good in reduction but as a new owner of a Nintendo Wii U console I do find it hard to believe that I would ever purchase something from the Nintendo eShop.
