Next Week’s Releases: Zombie fairgrounds vs farming sims

A big week for Microsoft, with one of their big exclusives finally hitting the shelves. We also have the new pretender to Dark Soul’s bloodthirsty throne, a farming sim, a futuristic co-op demon hunt and a gloriously muddy battle between dirtbikes and quads. Have a look below for our full weekly guide of upcoming releases along with links to our past coverage and the best prices.

MX Vs ATV: Supercross (PS3, 360)

This is Nordic’s first MX release since acquiring the series from THQ and with 17 tracks to tear up with dirtbikes and ATVs, we’re quite sure this will be the muddiest release of the week. Fingers crossed it’s a hit as we’d like to see the series make the jump to PS4 and XO sooner rather than later. Hmm, next-gen track deformation.

Best Price: Base: £19.99

The Unfinished Swan (PS4, Vita)

This indie gem is a unique experience where you navigate the world in first person, but must fire paint to colour in the blank world and explore your surroundings. We loved the PS3 version and can’t see it being much shiner on the PS4, but buyers of the original can download the new Vita/PS4 editions for free. Can’t say fairer than that really.

Farming Simulator 15 (PC)

Try to contain yourself farming fans, it’s almost here! The ultimate experience in field management sims is back and will very possibly be enthusiastically plugged in a future episode of Mock the Week. Console gamers will have to wait until next year though.

Best Price: 365 Games: £19.99

Freedom Wars (Vita)

Ever wanted to play something like Soul Sacrifice, but couldn’t get past the fantasy setting, or the ridiculously dull brown environments and the repetitive misery of it all? Fair enough, what if we had somebody give it a neo-Japan makeover and injected some colour into the co-op battles? Interested now? Thought so. Add in guns to the melee action and a cool grappling gun to climb around the environments or onto the larger monsters and we have one of the Vita’s most impressive looking up and comers from Sony.

Best Price: Boomerang: £21.89

Stealth Inc. 2

Hot on the heels of stealing Bayonetta 2, Ninty are at it again. Stealth Inc’s -formerly Stealth Bastard- brand of rock hard 2D stealth shenanigans seems like an odd fit for the Wii U, but so is a witch that fights with her hair as a catsuit while posing like a stripper between executions.

Sunset Overdrive (XO)

Insomniac have packed up their bags of insane weapons and jumped ship to Microsoft for this score-chasing zombie shooter. Think Tony Hawk’s grinding and combo based gameplay and mix it with Ratchet & Clank and then throw your money at it. Or are you going to wait for our review early next week?

Lords of the Fallen (PS4, XO, PC)

Fans of Dark Souls may want to take a look at this one as the fantasy setting and harsh difficulty are more than a little familiar. PS4 gamers may be more excited about next year’s Bloodborne, but this could certainly be a worthy warm up for all things brutal.

Best Price: Game Collection £34.95 (PS4, XO)
