"Where's the Witcher 3 review, Jon?"

JonLester |  May. 19, 2015 at 10:10

Good question. The long and short of it is that we haven't received a review copy.

Interestingly, the initial run of reviews were all based on the PS4 version running on debugged consoles, which we don't have. Quite why this was done makes for an interesting debate. However, we still haven't received a review copy, though Bandai Namco assures us that copies are being sent out this week.

We can't review what we don't have. I'll keep you up to date and we propose to run plenty of opinion pieces/guides (depending on if we buy the game over the next couple of days, which is looking increasingly likely), but seeing as The Witcher 3 is huge, don't hold your breath for a full review any time soon.

Either way, considering the current swathe of reviews, I can't imagine that too many gamers are holding our for our verdict. Have a blast, enjoy it and let us know how you get on!

@LazerFX: Yeah, that should be more than enough muscle. Have fun! Definitely let us know how you find it.

Wondering if we could do something more interesting and collaborative for The Witcher's review/verdict. I'll think about it.

I got mine with my new 4GB GTX 960... hopefully it'll have enough grunt to run the game on decent settings :D

Looking forward to it... GOG's pre-loaded it, so it should just be a quick update next time I get chance to play.
