White And Pink 3DS Consoles Coming To UK Next Month

Remember Nintendo's valiant assertion that they'd be targeting new demographics in the search for 3DS sales by releasing a pink console? Well that majestic piece of bubblegum stereotyping palette diversification comes to Europe next month, with both the white and pink SKUs dropping onto shelves on November 18th.

At first, you'll have to make do with bundles if you want to get your hands on one of these babies. The 'Ice White' console will be packaged alongside Super Mario 3D Land, with the 'Coral Pink' one getting Nintendogs + Cats. The consoles will release on their own in December.

Consider this: does changing the colour or price of a console actually convince people to buy it?

As far as I know, it doesn't. Gamers want to play games, Nintendo, and the 3DS needs more of them pronto. Hopefully Super Mario 3D Land will kick things up a notch.

Hear, hear! Come on, Nintendo! Release some games already!

Good old Nintendo, bundling the girly pink 3DS with the only game on the system to date that would probably appeal to them!

In all seriousness though, it's a pretty bum deal to package it with a launch title. Can't imagine the two games fetching the same money!

And no, changing the colour probably won't attract new buyers - both colours at launch would have suited either sex.

@JL and SD
You don't have kids?
It's stupid, but having the latest colour has a great deal of appeal, especially to young girls - and it all helps them to ramp up the pressure on their parents to get them it for Christmas. If all colours had been available at launch I believe they probably would've sold the same numbers they did at the time but they'd have less sales now, several months down the line.
So whilst bringing out new colours from time to time probably doesn't have a massive impact on sales it definitely helps them.
All in my opinion, of course...

Hahaha... Sterotyping it may be, but now my 9 year old daughter wants one, she never did like the other colours, we do live in that type of world...... Been looking online in the UK and the cheapest is from Shop.to and Toys 'r' us.... I prefer to buy from amazon though: Cheapest from Toys 'r' us and shopto.net
