Let's face it: you're about to buy a Wii U.

See, Nintendo have just pulled an astonishing masterstroke today by announcing that you can get a free download game if you buy Mario Kart 8 - including Pikmin 3, Wind Waker HD and The Wonderful 101. It's a great deal for existing fans, but even better for prospective buyers, since you'll get two great games to play right off the bat.

And the console to play them on. For less than £200. Again, let's face it, you're buying a Wii U. Maybe. Thanks to Billston @ HUKD!

Were it not for current financial woes, I think I'd be biting at this point.
Tempted, at any rate...

Pawn a kidney. You know it makes sense.

If I hadn't already bought one a few months ago I would certainly be buying one now, so I'm going to recommend the console instead. Personally I think it's a breath of fresh air as far as console gaming goes. I never could shake the feeling that the Wii motion control was gimmicky, but the Wii U gamepad has genuine potential and makes a genuine difference when implemented well, particularly when it comes to local multiplayer. Frankly with my PS Plus library growing by the month and my Xbox 360 gathering dust there is nothing on the PS4 or Xbox One that particularly excites me, but the Wii U genuinely offers originality, and feels fresh whilst retaining that Nintendo charm. Basically, I'm glad I bought one, and at this price it's definitely a console to go for if you were previously on the fence.
