The long-awaited Wii U system update designed to improve menu load times and stability will deploy next week, Nintendo confirmed today. This new firmware update will also add automatic software updates, background downloading while the system's turned off and the ability to copy data between two USB drives. Wii U owners can also press B during startup to to boot directly into the Wii emulator. It'll likely roll out on Thursday.
The Wii U Virtual console will launch the following day, featuring a selection of classic games that take advantage of off-TV play and separate MiiVerse communities.
