Wipe away those horrible memories of F-Zero and Fatal Inertia with Wipeout Pulse on the PSP, available from ShopTo for only £7.99!
Whizzed through a price-comparison, ShopTo’s deal for Wipeout Pulse lapped the competition as the cheapest around, with a four-pound saving! The portable version of Sony’s futuristic racing franchise, Wipeout Pulse impressed critics enough to earn an 82/100 on MetaCritic, with Gaming Age calling it a “nearly perfect experience”.
Wipeout Pulse is set in a futuristic realm of racing, with Blade Runner backdrops and Tron-esque vehicles. Unlike most racing games, which rely on a player’s skill and handling, Wipeout Pulse arms its vehicles with a variety of different weapons, from missiles to plasma bolts. Races are often tense, jostling affairs, where a carefully timed rocket or boost-pad can propel you into the lead.
An impressive aspect of Wipeout Pulse is how the developers managed to cram essentially a PS2 game into the PSP. Wipeout Pulse has clean, sharp graphics and sound, extensive single-player options, online multiplayer and downloadable content.
