Much like The Matrix, everything goes to ruin if we're not jacked in these days, and videogaming is no different. Whatever genre is your poison, whether you're busy teabagging poor noobs on Halo, playing alongside 19 others in a mammoth game of FIFA 10, or trading around the latest perfectly-balanced souped-up supercar in Forza 3, you're going to need a way of linking up to the internet. This is where the relatively new Wireless N Adapter comes in - offering the highest speed for WLAN compatibility yet.
Of course, it'd be nice if Microsoft joined us in the 21st century and made WLAN connectivity standard, but then expecting them not to milk us for every penny is like expecting pigs to fly. Nevertheless, Coolshop are offering the simple USB-plug-in for £42.49, saving about £5 on the nearest price we could find over at GAME.
To be honest, unless you actually have a wireless n connection, there's no point buying this at all. You might as well try and pick up one of the older ones if you can as they'll do the job just as well. However, this is by far the cheapest you'll find one of these, and it does give you exceptional signal, so it might be worth the punt if you have a high-end system set up at home. If it seems overpriced that's because it is, but that's more down to Microsoft's extortionist tactics rather than the nature of the market.
