Ever since The Witcher 2: Assassins of Kings was announced - after months of speculation - for the Xbox 360, we've wondered just how CD Projekt aimed to fit the visually-intensive PC RPG on a six year-old console. An announcement trailer suggested it wasn't going to be a massive compromise, and CD Projekt have confirmed they're looking to hit the same graphical ballpark on the 360 as a PC running The Witcher 2 on medium settings.
"The Xbox version is going to look better than the minimum settings on the PC," declares CD Projekt's Tomask Gop proudly. However, Gop does stop short of concrete confirmation of this, preferring to inject a little cautious optimism. "Don't hold my word for this, but the goal we have right now is to be close to the medium specs of the PC version".
CD Projekt are a talented bunch - just take a look at the critical reception for The Witcher 2, not to mention its graphical prowess - so I have no doubt they can pull this off. That said, Assassins of King is an epic game, encompassing a vast journey across sprawling land and countless conflicts. So, with that said, I very much doubt we'll be seeing this all fitting on one DVD!
As if that matters; here at Dealspwn, we're of the disposition that if you're game is good enough, it doesn't matter how many discs it fits on. See LA Noire. [Eurogamer]
