Witcher 2 On Xbox 360 Slips Into 2012

It did all seem a little too good to be true, didn't it? The Witcher 2, on Xbox 360, this year? It'll happen, just not so soon it seems, as CD Projekt have today confirmed the Assassins of Kings 360 port won't be released until 2012. Originally scheduled for November of this year, CD Projekt's ongoing legal dispute with Namco Bandai over publishing rights appears to have thrown a mischievous spanner in the works.

"The extra time will allow us to polish the title to perfection, so that the game offers an ideally balanced, fantastic experience to gamers," CD Projekt's Adam Kicinski told VG247. "As the launch of the game approaches, we will be sharing more details how it will be released on Xbox 360. I trust that despite the release date shift, players will be satisfied with what we are planning for them."

Funnily enough, I'm quite glad this has all happened. I already have one mammoth RPG lined up for November - Skyrim will probably ruin my life and all I hold dear - so pushing The Witcher 2 back to 2012 will leave me with enough time to soak up Bethesda's sprawling dragon-infested romp before diving into CD Projekt's grimy, bloody adventure.

Sound off, Dealspwners! Happy with the delay, like me? Or ticked off beyond comprehension? [VG247]
