Recent visitors to Microsoft's official Xbox site will have noticed its new 'Metro' design which, along with a few aesthetic changes, also includes a couple of extra features, such as the ability to cancel the Xbox Live Gold auto-renewal feature. While it's currently unclear as to whether these features will make it into the 360's next major dashboard update, Microsoft have announced that their new 'Metro' design will be hitting consoles on December 6th, bringing it in-line with the rest of their products' user interfaces.
One thing we do know is that the dash will integrate Kinect voice-recognition technology, allowing you to shout at your telly until it does what you want. In addition, December 6th sees the arrival of over 40 television and video-on-demand services to Microsoft's home console worldwide. It's still not entirely clear how the subscription-based TV services will work, or whether channels like the BBC will offer their iPlayer free to Xbox users, but it seems we don't have to wait long for answers to those questions.
