Xbox One: Only Day One Edition Pre-Orders Come With Free FIFA 14

Microsoft Struggles To Maintain Party Line

All Xbox One pre-orders come with a free digital copy of FIFA 14! Except they don't. No, wait, they do. Or not.

At the time of writing, Microsoft has stated that ONLY Day One Edition pre-orders will ship with the free game, but this could well be incorrect before you finish reading this sentence thanks to a confusing garble of mixed messages.

Microsoft has failed to maintain a consistent message regarding the free copy of FIFA 14, which made many footy fans more agreeable to a pre-order following the announcement at Gamescom 2013. "All pre-orders for Xbox One this holiday will include a copy of FIFA 14 at no extra cost," said corporate VP Phil Harrison.

Despite Xbox support and Major Nelson insisting that FIFA 14 will be included with any Xbox One pre-order, Xbox EMEA social marketing manager Graeme Boyd has now thrown a spanner in the works with the following missive:

So... there? Day One editions are still available from several UK retailers, though Amazon are out of stock.

We'll continue to report on the situation, but it's clear that Microsoft need to work on presenting a united front with a consistent and coherent party line. Something that, frankly, they've been struggling with over the last few months.

I noticed that game.co.uk have a day one bundle including FIFA14 and COD Ghosts for £485, and also have a regular bundle including COD Ghosts for £455 - which I assumed should include FIFA if you preorder it.
It's all rather confusing. Looks like Game are working on the assumption that only Day One editions will include FIFA.
(Note that one of the aforementioned includes a digital copy of COD, the other includes a physical copy.)

Was confused by this, before - nothing's changed, then!

EDIT - btw, not sure how many £485 bundles they'll sell if it's £430 for the day one console bundle and £50 for the game.
You've misunderstood how these deals work, there, Game. It's supposed to be cheaper to buy the bundle than to buy the two things separately...

the Game COD bundle isn't an official bundle, just something they strapped together with non-day one editions. Pretty daft really as its completely mispriced as you say
