Xbox One Will Include A Bundled Headset After All

New Unboxing Video Spills The Beans

Microsoft PR guru Larry "Major Nelson" Hyrb has released an Xbox One unboxing video that shows what to expect from a console bundle. Interestingly, Microsoft has pulled another policy U-Turn by deciding to include a headset after all, which was originally omitted to encourage users to use the Kinect microphone instead. We're not complaining, mind.

You'll also get a 4K-ready HDMI cable. Check it out after the break.

Gosh, that is possibly the shiniest console I've ever seen. Just look at that reflection. I can see infinity in it.

Wow a 4k-Ready HDMI Cable; instead of a what? a Standard HDMI cable? Sounds to me marketing ****, all HDMI cables should be able to handle a 4k image.

Not according to the blurb they are not.

Don't worry that they are all exactly the same pin outs and most of the time, material... ?!

1.4 does 4k at 24p - 2.0 will do it at 60p.

Never had an issues of an old HDMI not doing any of the newer functions though.

I'm easily impressed by pointless gimmicks - even when I can see they're ultimately likely to annoy. So that power button made me grin. Even though it means the console will turn on and off every time the wife's dusting.

So about twice a year, then.

Boom!

I'm dead if she reads this. (I think I'm safe, then. She's not so into the gaming blogs, tbh.)

I've gone off on a tangent...

So a headset is included. That's great news :D
The niggling voice is there in the back of my mind arguing that once again I'm pleased by Microsoft giving me something that should've always been there from the start - which could well be a clever "deny them what they want/need, then give them it bit by bit over the summer and autumn so the punters are happier and we get more press" thing. But the majority of my brain is just happy that we're getting it included and won't be stiffed for another fifteen/twenty quid.

FREE STICKER! Your move Sony!

Wow, look at the power button! Now my cat can turn on this Xbox more often than I do for next-gen too. It's hardly an innovation over the Elite 360 button. But yeah, free sticker.

That on/off switch is cool; I never saw him plug the console in.. But seriously, I hate touch sensitive controls, did I press it? is it on? can it be accidentally triggered?

I don't like it on the Xbox360 (The cd eject button i always accidentally press when moving the console), nor on the PS3..
