Xbox.com Redesign Lets You Cancel XBL Auto-Renewal

Many of you will have noticed that Xbox.com went live with a new 'metro' design over the weekend, which adds new search options and Beacons friend-finding functionality. It's also much easier on the eye.

For savvy consumers, however, the main event is the fact that you can now easily deactivate the much-maligned 'auto-renewal' function for Xbox Live Gold Membership. This nasty little feature usually meant long and tedious calls to customer support in order to dodge months of overpriced subscriptions drawn directly from your credit card, but it's now a thing of the past. About time too, really.

That cancelling feature has been on the site for at least a month or two. I used it to stop my auto-renewal back then. It's definitely not part of the new site redesign.

Cheers, though it's certainly been revamped, made more obvious and easier to use. As it's a major point of contention here (the subject often comes up), we need to make it as obvious as possible.

Confirmed - that's been there for at least 2-3 months.

Tis definitely worth reminding people, though. Check you've got auto-renew disabled, folks!
