Zavvi Calls Xbox One RRP At £399

It begins. Zavvi appears to be the first retailer to break cover with a retail price for the Xbox One, calling the newly-released console at £399.99 with a November 30th release date. This seems to tally with several $399-$499 predictions, but of course, it could well be wishful thinking or supposition on Zavvi's part. Still, that's a convincing banner.

It's probably too early to make a judgement call on the RRP, but how much would you be willing or able to pay for any next-gen console?

The irony here is that it's Zavvi. I'd say no matter what you paid, you'd be lucky if the thing ever turned up!

How much would I pay for a machine with no backwards compatibility, half it's core functions missing at launch and THEN probably only available to gold subscribers and most importantly blocks all games other than ones specifically bought brand new by you?

Nothing. Not one cold penny. I wouldn't even have one in my house. And given that the PS4 was 'meh' and the Wii U is 'huh?' I guess I'll hang up my joystick.

Haven't you got a PC? Surely that hasn't abandoned you?
