Zenimax Extends Prey Trademarks

Bethesda Softworks' parent company, Zenimax Media, has filed to extend its trademarks regarding the Prey IP.

The company this month filed three separate applications with the United States Patent & Trademark Office to cover TV shows, online gamesmagazines, comic books, and feature films, amongst others.

Just to be clear, Zenimax have refused to comment on the future of the Prey franchise, and thus this development means diddly-squat in concrete terms.

But it's worth making a little noise about, if only to remind Bethesda and its parent that Prey 2 is a game that we'd really like to see get a release!

Here's what we said about the game when we saw it last, back in 2011:

"I don't really know what more to say other than this is a very ambitious title and I only got to see a very small glimpse of Exodus, however it was enough to know that I want this game NOW and in my opinion it's shaping up to be one of the stand out games of 2012."

With Bethesda pledging to "make some noise" this year about a few new releases, could Prey 2 be one of them? We have everything crossed. [Gamespot]

Prey 2 looked epic when they revealed it, barely heard anything about it since.
